Diglyphus 500 pieces Biopol
Diglyphus isaea is a parasitic wasp used to control leaf miners, with a preference for the 2nd and 3rd larval stages.
Effective against: Leaf miner, especially in the 2nd and 3rd larval stages.
Adults are 2–3 mm long, metallic green in color, with short, sturdy antennae and strikingly large eyes.
Diglyphus is mainly used in spring and summer. At higher temperatures, its population grows much faster than that of the leaf miner or other parasitoids like Dacnusa sibirica and Opius pallipes.
The adult female wasp paralyzes the leaf miner larva in the mine and lays an egg next to it.
The egg develops into a wasp inside the mine, using the dead larva as food.
Host feeding occurs as well, which slows the buildup of the leaf miner population.
Application:
-
Walk through the crop and allow the Diglyphus wasps to fly out.
-
Best released during early morning or evening.
-
Visible activity in the crop after about 2 weeks: mines containing dead larvae.
-
Pupae can be seen by holding leaves up to the light.
-
Store the bottle upright in the dark at 8–10ºC.
-
