Phytoseiulus Persimilis 10,000 pieces Biopol
Phytoseiulus persimilis is a small predatory mite (about 0.5 mm) used against spider mites.
The adults are very active, have a droplet-shaped, orange to bright orange-red body with long legs and are slightly larger than the spider mite. The eggs are oval in shape and about twice as large as spider mite eggs. The larvae and nymphs are light salmon in colour.
The nymphs and adults feed on all stages of the spider mite by sucking them dry. The drained spider mites turn brown to black and are visible as small dots on the leaves.
The predatory mites are active year-round in the greenhouse. Phytoseiulus persimilis is most active at a high relative humidity (about 70%) and at temperatures regularly above 20°C. At temperatures above 18°C, they reproduce faster than spider mites. Phytoseiulus dies out in the absence of food.
